The Crisis service
Nobody is invincible when it comes to mental ill-health, just like nobody is invincible to physical ill-health!
When life knocks us down, we sometimes need a helping hand to get us back on our feet.

When life knocks us down, we sometimes need a helping hand to get us back on our feet.
The crisis service is broken down into 3 stages:
Stage 1:
1-1 support from a wellbeing worker. Our staff are trained in ASIST (Suicide intervention) and Connect 5 (A brief intervention toolkit, incorporating cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy, and the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. Staff implement these tools during an initial meeting. You will create an action plan with your wellbeing worker, which will help you to begin tackling your stressors, and move forward towards better wellbeing. You may have a number of follow-up sessions to support your journey, until we feel you are ready to move on into stage two. Stage 2:
Peer support within a group environment. We run support groups across a variety of topics wherever possible. Although recent events - specifially lockdown - has made it impossible to offer a drop-in lounge service, we continue to look at ways of offering groups, including walking and yoga, to try and provide a safe place where you can talk it out, or get involved with therapeutic activities to help relieve the strain. Stage 3:
Great! You're through the storm - Maybe you even feel strong enough to hold the umbrella for somebody else? Stage 3 is an optional peer mentor programme, where you can train to help others who are struggling through their own dark times. Peer mentors facilitate a number of our activities, and are an invaluable resource to the charity, and the people who use the group environment. Learn skills, develop your confidence, and do something amazing all at the same time! |
The Wellbeing Club
Achieving & Maintaining Wellbeing for the whole community
What is it?
The wellbeing club has been affected by lockdown, but we hope to resume running a full programme of events, activities and workshops very soon. The club’s carefully selected activities are themed around the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. This shows people how to balance their lives in a way that increases confidence, purpose and self worth while gaining new skills, experiences and being part of an ever-growing support network.
The activities we provide are split into categories of: Workshops, Support groups, Physical activities, Hobby development and Self care. Some examples of activities we have run can be found in the table below.

What to expect
Our programme is designed with you around your interests and needs. We will spend time with you exploring what activities you enjoy and creating a plan aimed at helping you to feel empowered and enable you to enjoy life in a manageable way.
After creating a wellbeing plan, our trained team will guide and support each individual to gain new skills and explore new or established interests. We can assist with the development of practical skills, organisational skills and interpersonal skills.
Or simply have fun!
All of our groups are small so each person has the support they require while benefiting from being in a social setting. There are no expectations and no pressures, and we work in a person-centred way at a pace that you are comfortable with.
